Description
Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Washington Dept. of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW) for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). Purpose of proposed contract is to compile current and historical spawning information for upriver bright chinook salmon above McNary Dam on the Columbia River. Proposed contractor will also summarize CWT information and biological information available for these stocks for years 1998, 2000, and 2001. The WDFW manages the chinook salmon fisheries in Washington State with Tribal co-managers who manage specific tribal fisheries in traditional tribal fisheries areas. WDFW is the primary agency documenting research and stock assessment programs for chinook salmon in the region including escapement surveys, sampling programs to recover tags, biological sampling, and the collection of other data on chinook salmon used for management purposes.
