Description

Q7530-01-0006, Landscaping Services, for the Chalmette National Cemetery, in Chalmette, Louisiana. The contractor shall provide all plant, labor, tools, materials, equipment, transportation and supervision necessary to clear and grub areas of volunteer vegetation, remove existing trees and grind stumps; prepare planting area for new plants; plant trees, shrubs, vines and groundcovers and furnish and place fertilizer and mulch; hand-water and maintain new plantings for a period of one year after installation. The period of performance for any resulting contract for preparation and installation is One Hundred Twenty (120) calendar days. This one hundred twenty-day period includes material approval, acquisition, transportation and installation. The one-year maintenance/warranty period begins the day following final acceptance of installation by the government. Any resulting contract shall be firm fixed price. Estimated magnitude of this project is between $50,000 and $100,000. Solicitation Q7530-01-0006 is hereby issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). This solicitation is issued as a 100% small business set-aside and will follow Simplified Acquisition Procedures as outlined in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this project is 561730, Landscaping Services, with a size standard of $5 million. The RFQ will be structured as a "Base Quote," for the main effort of the project, with additional "Quote (or Bid) Additives." The government reserves the right to award all or part of the solicitation. This will be a best value, single award acquisition. Award may be made to other than the lowest offered price. The government intends to award one contract to the offeror deemed responsible in accordance with the FAR, whose quotation conforms to the RFQ's requirements and is judged to represent the best value to the Government. The government reserves the right to conduct discussions for clarification purposes only if the Contracting Officer determines them to be necessary. The government reserves the right to reject any or all offers if such action is in the best interest of the government. The solicitation will be issued on are about August 13, 2001. A site visit will be held on are about August 28, 2001 with quotes being due on are about September 14, 2001. All dates are tentative at this point and are subject to change.
