Description

NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for an upgrade to an existing Brunson Industrial Measurement Solutions AIMS III Theodolite system owned by NASA Langley Research Center. The upgrade will include the purchase of: 1 each Serial Distribution Interface, P/N 8401; 1 each Spatial Analyzer Core Module, P/N SA Core; 1 each Spatial Analyzer Thedolite Manager Communication Module, P/N SA-TM; 3 each Zeiss Regulator/Cable retrofit, P/N ZRR-1; 1 each system integration and test, P/N SA INT; and on site system training for 5 NASA employees. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from Brunson Industrial Measurement Solutions, Teterboro, NJ as the original equipment manufacturer of the existing Theodolite measurement system. The current system was last updated in 1993 and is no longer supported. The upgrade will bring the existing system up to the latest technology and software and allow for support of space-flight projects at NASA Langley Research Center. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on August 6, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
