Description

The U. S. Department of Agriculture, Region 6, Olympic National Forest, is issuing a request for quotations for monitoring road restoration treatments. This project consists of monitoring sites within various watersheds on the Olympic National Forest in Washington State. Project site areas are within the Dungeness River, Skokomish River, Satsop River, Wynoochee River, East Fork Humptulips River, and Sol duc River Watersheds. Data will be collected to determine whether road restoration treatments designed to reduce sediment delivery to aquatic systems have been effective. The monitoring design involves multiple-year implementation and includes data collection prior to, immediately after, and one year following various road treatments. Primary treatments include restoration of hill slope stabilization through side-cast pull back and removal of large road fills. Erosion control methods used include seeding, mulching, terracing, placing large wood, and bioengineering techniques. The monitoring will be conducted at 3 individual culvert removal/replacement sites and along 9 road segments. This acquisition will be advertised as Commercial Items Request for Quote in accordance with FAR Part 12 and will be 100% set-aside for small businesses. The Service Contract Wage Act applies. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 15310 with a standard size of $5.0M.
