Description

The planned project replaces an earth wasteway on the lower portion of the S7 Canal of the Pondera County Canal and Reservoir Company irrigation system. The wasteway consists of an inlet structure, check structure, pipeline, and plunge pool outlet. The inlet structure is a short section of concrete pipe with a starter coupler and a concrete base. The pipeline includes 209 feet of 21-inch diameter, 80 psi pvc pipe and 890 feet of 18-inch diameter, 80 psi pvc pipe. Earthwork will consist of excavation and earthfill for the structures, pipeline, outlet and channel work. Rock riprap is included at the inlet, check structure and plunge pool. The project will be performed at the Lower Birch Creek Watershed located approximately 5.5 miles north and 1 mile west of Conrad, Montana. The Request for Quotations will be released on or about 8-01-01. A site visit is tentatively scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on 8-13-01.
