Description

This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and an award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service intends to issue a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for mechanical reduction of 358 acres of hazardous fuels by flailing on the Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge (NWR). The specifications include, but are not limited to the following requirements: Contractor will furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, supervision, and supplies and perform all work necessary for the reduction of 358 acres of hazardous fuels on refuge lands by flailing and leveling of trees, vines and brush within designated areas on the Mississippi Sandhill Crane NWR. No equipment or supplies will be furnished by the Government. The contract areas consist of stands with variable densities of trees, stems, and brush. All areas are located within the boundaries of the Mississippi Sandhill Crane NWR and Grand Bay National NWR, Jackson County, MS. The methods used for clearing shall be mechanical clearing using a flail type drum cutter with an overall cutting width of 87 inches and a cutting diameter of 20, mounted on a tracked vehicle. Wheeled machines are not acceptable. Refuge is closed to the public: BID ITEMS SHOWN TO BIDDERS BY REQUEST ONLY.
