Description

The U. S. Secret Service (USSS) has a requirement for the lease of 126 Digital Postage Meters as well as 126 -- five pound Postal Scales, with an option to increase the total of meters and/or scales throughout the period of performance of the contract up to ten (10) each. The 126 meters/scales will be installed at 126 USSS sites throughout the United States. The meters must have the capability of: adding postage via any telephone line; resetting safeguards against overpayments; having a unique five-digit cost code; and providing postage accounting reports. Postage meter lease rates must include all U.S. Postal Service rate changes throughout the period of performance of the contract -- the government will not incur any additional charges. Meters/scales must be replaced within 24 hours in the event of malfunction. Installation shall be made on 01 October 2001. Additional requirements will be included in the RFP. The Government anticipates award of a firm-fixed price contract to include a base period of 12 months with four (4) one-year renewal options, if exercised by the Government. Only written requests for this solicitation package will be accepted and must be received within 10 calendar days from date of this announcement.
