- Description
- This principal features of work to be performed are: construction of a wood frame, one story barracks building approximately 3,200 square feet in area; construction of approximately 190 lineal feet of 4-inch ductile iron pipe from the new building to an existing 8-inch asbestos cement sewer main; construction of a water well and water line from the new well to the building; construction of underground electrical service from the current electric service to the new building including transformer; construction of the meter distribution center; construction of natural gas service from the current gas service to the new building; construction of proposed gravel driveway, parking areas, and walkways, construction of concrete walkways and patios; topsoiling, planting, and seeding. The following are additive items that may not be awarded depending on funds available at the time of bid opening: appliances to include dishwashers, ranges, refrigerators, freezer, microwaves, washers & dryers; additional concrete sidewalk; window treatments and prefabricated bedroom closets; and clean agent extinguishing systems. Contractor is responsible for all construction staking required to construct the building. The project is located in Portage Valley, at approximately mile 5 of the Portage Highway and approximately 55 road miles south of Anchorage, Alaska. The contract is to be completed by September 30, 2002. Estimated start work date is October 2001. Estimated price range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The solicitation (except for attachments) will be posted to our website (URL shown below) for downloading by C.O.B. (local time) on August 15, 2001. The technical specifications, drawings and Geotechnical Report need to be purchased from a third party at an estimated cost of $11 for 11" x 17" drawings, $34 for 24" x 36" drawings, $40 for technical specifications, and $8 for Geotechnical Report plus shipping and handling charges. All the information you will need to obtain the technical specifications, drawings, and Geotechnical Report from the third party will be posted to our web site when we issue the solicitation. It will be the responsibility of the bidder to check the web site for any amendments to the solicitation. In case we are unable to post an amendment to our web site please provide the contact information that is requested when you download the solicitation. ONLY contact our office to receive a hard copy of the solicitation if you DO NOT have access to the internet. All responsible sources may submit a bid that will be considered.
