- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) on behalf of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Office of Research and Technology has a continuing requirement to acquire services to conduct a wide variety of research studies and activities in the areas of Driver Performance, Safety Management, Program Support and Outreach on a task order basis. The objectives of these research areas are to: ensure that commercial drivers are physically qualified, trained to perform safely, and mentally alert, improve the safety behavior of non-commercial drivers in the vicinity of trucks and buses; improve motor carrier compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) and their safety practices in general; gain a deeper and broader understanding of driver, carrier, vehicle, and environmental factors in Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) crash risk, and the potential applicability of countermeasures; and enhance the management, effectiveness, and impact of the overall agency Research & Technology program. This anticipated contract is designed to provide rapid responses to FMCSA requests on a wide range of research issues in Driver Performance, Safety Management, Program Support and Outreach. The solicitation, all related documents and amendments, if any, will only be released and available electronically through the Electronic Posting System (EPS) at http://www.eps.gov under the EPS for vendors option followed by selection of the DOT center. As much, no written, telephonic, facsimile or email requests for the solicitation package will be honored. Interested parties can register at the aforementioned site to receive procurement announcements by email. Since this solicitation will only be available electronically, it is the responsibility of interested parties to monitor the EPS website for any solicitation amendments. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit an offer.
