Description

Fire Protection, Building 2 Roof Structure, Southern Arizona VA Health Care System, Tucson, Arizona. Provide all material, labor, equipment and supervision required to extend fire sprinkler protection to the old porched areas in Building No. 2. The original structure was built in the 1920's and contained porches with pitched roof canopies built of heavy wood timber and tongue and groove decking. Over the years these areas were enclosed to become interior space. This condition exists on the second floor north and south and on the third floor north in Building 2. The scope of work includes extending the existing fire protection system into these concealed areas. The removal of existing gypsum board and plaster ceilings which are located between the existing roof structure and suspended ceiling system will be required. It is the intent of this project to minimize the removal and replacement of the suspended ceiling system although complete removal and reinstallation of new will be required in some areas as described in the plans and specs. All work shall be completed as stated in the drawings and specifications. The project is estimated between $100,000 and 250,000. Performance period is 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. The Invitation for Bid will be issued on or about August 14, 2001. All responsible offerors may submit a bid which will be considered by the agency. The NAICS code for this procurement is 233320 and the annual size standard is $27.5 Million. A Bid Guarantee is required. A pre-bid conference/site visit is scheduled for 8/28/01 at 8am.
