Description

The U.S. Department of Energy, Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), has a requirement for the construction of a 230 kV transmission Line between Sundance Switchyard and Coolidge Substation. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment and material, other than government furnished material, necessary to construct approximately 9.3 miles of double circuit and 4.7 miles of single circuit 230kV transmission lines between Sundance Swithcyard and Coolidge Substation. The work includes: furnishing and installing conductor hardware and installing government furnished steel pole transmission towers, insulators, conductor, ground wiere, and fiber optic overhead ground wire. The magnitude of the construction project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The period of perfomance is 120 calendar days. This project is not set-aside for small business. The Standard Industrial Classification code is 1623 the NAICS is 234920 and the size standard is $27.5 M. The Solicitation will be issued on or about August 17, 2001. Bid Opening datge is September 26, 2001. Davis-Bacon Act applies for Pinal County , Highway and Heavy. A SITE VISIT WILL BE CONDUCTED on September 20, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the Coolidge Substation which is located 51 miles from Phoenix, AZ, in Pinal County, ZIP 85228. It is located north of the town of Coolidge, just north of the junction of Arizona State Routes 87 and 287. From north: I-10 to exit 185, take Route 387 to 287 and head to Coolidge.
