- PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO NEW REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTERING ON OUR WEBSITE. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to procure structural repairs to high rise building 136 and 138 with the possibility or the possible option of buildings 135 and 137. This includes extend foundation waterproofing about 2 feet up to grade level; provide new waterproofing on subgrade corridor roof slabs; provide full waterproofing for full depth of foundation wall. Excavate, backfill, reseed and transplant as required to restore landscaping. Pressure inject chemical grout waterproofing into foundation wall cracks from interior of basement. Waterproof areaways. Replace existing cast-in-place planters with pre-cast planters. Provide sealant at joints between concrete walkways and building walls. At selected basement corridor walls, scrape and paint concrete walls and ceilings. At garage floors, remove deteriorated asphaltic coatings and spalled concrete topping. Shot blast existing concrete, patch topping and prepare to receive new cementitious finish. Paint new parking lines on floor. Paint garage walls and ceiling. At selected beams and columns, remove concrete encasement, perform visual and ulktrasonic inspection of beams and column corrosion and loss of section. Clean corrosion, weld beam and column reinforcements if necessary and inspect welds visually and ultrasonically. Replace concrete encasement. At terraces, remove concrete toppings, waterproof membranes, drains, flashings, railings and parapet copings. Provide new concrete subfill, waterproof membrane and concrete topping. Provide new duplex drains, some at new locations. Provide new flashings. Reinstall existing railing. At windows, remove sealant at sill to jamb joint. Provide new sealant and molding. Inspect window perimeter sealant and EIFS finish. Provide new sealant if existing is missing or defective. Provide new EIFS patch if EIFS is deteriorated at window jamb. At selected roof areas, cut out existing epdm membrane and insulation down to existing wood deck with asphaltic membrane. Remove base flashings, pitchpockets and door sills. Provide new roof insulation with epdm membrane, flashings and pitchpockets. Perform various other repairs to roof including stripping of deteriorated beams, patching of tears, installing battens at areas where epdm membrane has worked loose. At selected bulkhead roofs, replace aluminum coping with new. Replace metal ventilator caps at top of abandoned chimney flues with new. Co-ordinate their replacement with cable TV company. At Buildings 135, 136 & 138, remove existing lobby ventilation exhaust fans and housings at roofs and replace with new. At Building 138, remove existing concrete caps at the top of the lobby ventilation shafts and replace with new fans and housings. At each floor lobby provide fire damper and volume damper at shaft opening. Replace all terrace drains. Replace trench drains in front of garage doors. Remove and replace selected area drains. Replace missing floor drain grates. Replace selected clean outs to make accessible. Remove concrete patching to expose cleanouts. Provide cleanouts at the base of leaders. Provide automatic drain aftercooler in selected condesate pump waste lines. Clean selected waste lines to remove debris. Provide clean out plugs where missing. Provide vent piping as selected locations. The estimated date for the availability of web solicition and is on or about 20 August 2001. The estimated date for bid opening will be on or about 20 September 2001 at 2:00 PM EST at US Army Corps of Engineers, 26 Federal Plaza, Room 1843, New York, NY 10278-0090. The estimated time for project completion will be 365 calendar days. The NAICS code for this project is 233220.
