Description

This project will consist of reconstruction, grading, drainage, base and asphalt paving on 1.390 kilometers of roadway for Beaver Meadows Road in Rocky Mountain National Park, Larimer County, State of Colorado. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $3,000,000. Principal work items: various survey and staking; lumpsum contractor testing; 4.0 ha clearing and grubbing; 12,000 m3 roadway excavation; 5,200 m3 waste; 1,700 m2 roadway obliteration; 7,500 m2 road reconditioning; 5,700 metric tons roadway aggregate method 2; 3,100 metric tons minor hot asphalt concrete; 375 m2 reinforced Portland cement concrete pavement; 400 m culvert (various size); 9 each inlet type 6B; 25 m trench drain; 420 m Portland colored cement concrete curb and gutter; 710 m2 colored concrete sidewalk (various); 240 hours major equipment operator (various); 2,200 m3 placing conserved topsoil; 230 L pavement markings, type B; 1,500 hours traffic control; 430 m conduit, 50 mm PVC. The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
