Description

Project QJKL 97-8005, Maintain-Repair-Alter Bldg 760 consists of the following work elements: Demolish glazed structural units on exterior of stairwells and bldg front and reface with brick. Replace exterior doors and hardware. Install drip edge flashing above ribbon style windows. Demolish skylight curtain wall and replace with a vertical glass curtain wall and masonry with new roof. Increase hallway lighting. Install mini blinds. Replace carpeting and ceiling tiles. Remodel heating and ventilation systems. Demolish front canopy. Construct an elevator and extend lobby to the north. Add power assisted doors to the lobby. Construct a canopy at the south facing entrance. Install electro-magnetic holds on doors. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The estimated performance period is eleven months (3 months for submittals and 8 months on-site performance). The NAICS Code is 233320 -- Commercial & Institutional Building Construction, the size standard is $27.5 million. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued o/a 17 August 2001 and opened o/a 16 Sep 2001. Dates are for estimating only and may be revised as indicated in the IFB. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by this agency. Funds are not presently available for this project. No award will be made until funds are available to make payments under a contract. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, either before or after bid opening with no obligation to the offeror by the Government.
