Reference: COMBAT INFORMATION TRANSPORT SYSTEM (CITS) / INFORMATION TRANSPORT SEGMENT (ITS) Announcement dated 31 July 2001 The Air Force would like to clarify it's position regarding the referenced announcement. The discussion in paragraphs 1 through 3 of the announcement delineates the Air Force objective as well as the reasons for the need to change current methods acquisition and maintenance. The remainder of the announcement delineates a method to achieve the stated objectives. We are seeking industry comment regarding the approach set forth in the announcement, as well as possible alternatives that will lead to the stated objective in a timely and cost efficient manner. The Air Force requests that Industry comment be submitted not later than 15 August 2001.
