Description

Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/SNRW ) solicits research proposals for "Advanced Spread Spectrum Communications Countermeasures." This research will focus on novel signal detection, location, identification, tracking, sorting, and jamming techniques. Spread spectrum waveforms such as Direct Sequence (DS), Frequency Hopping (FH), hybrid (DS/FH), Ultrawideband (UWB), short duration, ternary PSK, and transform domain waveforms will be investigated. Special emphasis will be on networked CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) military systems. Optimal jamming strategies will be investigated with consideration for inclusion with multifunction architectures. Trade-off of efficiency, effectiveness, and cost will be determined. This research will evaluate the compatibility with jamming duty cycle, interaction with a Signal-of-Interest (SOI) database, and Angle-of-Arrival/Time-of-Arrival (AOA/TOA) measurements. This research will be accomplished through analytic or mathematical modeling, simulation-based modeling, hardware emulation, and evaluation.
