- Description
- The U. S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Division, has a requirement for geophysical logging at White Sands Missle Range, New Mexico. This requirement will likely require a total of three (possibly more) trips to White Sands Missle Range, NM. The first two trips will be to log mud-rotary holes drilled in basin-fill material to depths ranging from 300'-500' deep. Logging of these holes must commence immediately upon completion of drilling. The third trip will be to log 18-20 holes drilled into crystalline bedrock to depths ranging from 100'-200' deep. All of these holes will likely be logged during a single trip after drilling has been completed. The required logs will include the following: 1. Natural Gamma; 2. Three arm caliper; 3. Gamma-gamma (density); 4. Electric logs -- a. long normal, b. short normal, c. induction; 5. Neutron; 6. Acoustic Televiewer; 7. Optical Televiewer (digital imaging/virtual core). Field printouts of each log will be required along with a computer disk, containing all acquired information that is formatted in a form compatible with WellCad software. Because the exact dates will not be known until each drill hole is near completion, the logging company will need to be available at White Sands Missle Range on as little as a 12-hour notice. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the Government considers the services specified as a sole source from South West Geophysical Services, Inc., 4200 Skyline Drive, Farmington, NM, and proposes to negotiate a contract with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitaiton document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement. See Notes 22.
