Description

The Albuquerque Area Indian Health Service (IHS)Office will be releasing a Request for Proposal for various specialty health care services. Services will be provided to the Indian Health Service beneficiaries who are Contract Health Service eligible on a referral basis. The listing are some of the speciality health care services that IHS requiries which are not available or are available on a limited basis: cardiology, dialysis, gestroenterology, pediatric cardio, radiology,MRI, anesthesia, neuro-surgery, orthopedics, podiatry, dermatoglogy, dental,urology, hematology/oncology, women's health, internal medicine, general surgical, surgery/first assists, etc. It is the intent of the IHS to award multple requirements type contracts for a base year and four, one-year options for renewal. Awards will be made to those providers who will accept payment in full at the allowable Medicare Rates. The IHS has a policy, as announced in the Federal Register dated June 1987, that it will do business with medical providers who will accept reimbursements at the allowable Medicare Rate. Price quotes will be evaluated base on the base year plus applicable option years. All claims will be paid by the IHS Fiscal Intermediary, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New Mexico, Inc. Offerors must have provide proof of medical license and registered to practice medicine in the state where the medical office or facility is located. Must be board certified or board eligible in the specialty health care provided. The Native American population to be provided services are located in the Southwestern Region; Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas. The Request for Proposal No. 01-07/VZ will be open continous until December 31, 2001. Awards will be made as proposals are received and evaluated during this period. Written request only. FAX NO.
