Description

This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and an award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service intends to issue a Request for Quotations (RFQs) for the services of a contractor to provide all labor, equipment and supplies for the control of exotic vegetation which includes, but is not limited to, Melaleuca quinquenervia, Australian pine, Brazilian pepper, Bischofia, Java plum, earleaf acacia, and Old World climbing fern at A.R.M Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, Boynton Beach, FL. Contractor shall have valid and current licenses in aquatic and right-of-way categories issued by the State of Florida. This is a small business set-aside. SIC Code: 0851. NAICS Code: 11531 Size Standard: $5 million. Tentative Issue date for RFQ is August 13, 2001. A firm fixed price order will be issued with a performance period of 120 days. Award date will be on or about September 10, 2001. The Fish and Wildlife Service is presently using Electronic Commerce (EC)to issue Request for Quotations and Purchase Orders. In order to submit a quote on-line, you must register at the same website. Prior to registering, each company must obtain a Dun and Bradstreet number. You may obtain this number free of charge at 1-800-333-0505. The User ID is your Dun and Bradstreet number and the password is your company's Tax ID number. After registration all contractors will be able to view posted solicitations and awards and submit quotes on-line. This will be your only means of obtaining this solicitation/award. All contractors with access to the Internet and an e-mail address can receive electronic notifications of award. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Thus, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above Internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for quotes receipt may render your offer nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
