Description

The US Army Research Laboratory, Weapons and Materials Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005, plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the purchase of (1)Technical Services for Hot Isostatic Press (HIP)Processes, 40 ea,(2) Electron Beam Weld Parts, 40 ea, and (3) Acid Etch and Clean Parts, 40 ea. ARL will supply the 40 each 6 x 6 x 2.25 inch Ceramic Tiles for HIP, Welding, Etching, and Cleaning. Processed and finished tiles will be returned to ARL upon completion. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). ARL intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302 with Bodycote IMT, Inc, Andover, MA 01810 due to the proprietary processes utilized by Bodycote IMT and to maintain continuity of test results. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing via FAX 410-278-6522 to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered non-responsive to this synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
