Description

BNFL, Inc. (BNFL), is a contractor at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (NEEL), Scoville, Idaho for the Department of Energy (DOE) on the Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project (AMWTP). The AMWTP is a fixed price contract for the retrieval, characterization, packaging, and shipping of contaminated mixed waste from the State of Idaho to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in New Mexico. BNFL is looking for expressions of interest from potential salvage operators/companies for a possible future procurement to partially dismantle the Transuranic Storage Area -- Retrieval Enclosure (TSA-RE) located at the AMWT Project. Remuneration for the provided services would be the salvage value contained in the materials removed during the dismantling process. The TSA-RE is a 313,000 square foot engineered metal building constructed in the mid to late 1990's. The partial dismantling process will include the removal of the outer and inner walls of the structure on the north and east sides comprising approximately 60,000 square feet of outer wall and an additional 60,000 square feet of inner wall.
