Description

Starting in 2002 the National Health and Nutrition Survey (NHANES) will integrate a new examination in the medical exa mination for the purpose of studying skin disease. This requirement is for the acquisition of Standardized Readings of Digi tal Skin Images (DSI), taken during NHANES examination, for Psoriasis, and Hand Dermatitis and Fitzpatrick skin type. The number of examines will be 1,915 per year. There are four images per subject and include images of the survey participant's back with elbows, the inner arm, the front of the legs with dorsum of the hands, and the back of legs with the palms. The images will be read by two board certified dermatologists for aggregate and individual features including: hand dermatitis, as well as a sub-classification of hand dermatitis, and psoriasis. The period of performance will be one year for the basi c contract with a possible additional 4-one-year option periods. This requirement is subject to the availability of funds f or Fiscal Year 2002. The estimated release date for this RFP is approximately 15 days after this publication and closing wi ll be approximately 30 days after issue date.
