Description
The above-numbered solicitation, for the Multi Media Projection System, is amended in part to provide the following: a. The location for the installation of the equipment is NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL, 555 DYER ROAD, MONTEREY, CA 93943. b. Answers to questions received in response to the solicitation (see below): QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS TO SOLICITATION N00244-01-T-1028 Question 1: In order to properly calculate the number of speakers in each room, need exact room dimensions, wxdxh. Also need to know if the projection ceiling mount system required is motorized or fixed. Answer 1: There are three different classrooms, each with different configurations. Each classroom seats about 30 students. Two speakers, one on each side of the screen, would do. The projector's ceiling mount shall be fixed, not motorized. The contractor shall supply the projector with pro per lenses. Question 2: The screen is specified as 84" X 84", a square aspect ratio. It will have unused screen below image. Recommend using 4:3 aspect ratio for better look and greater contrast. Answer 2: 84" is the width of the screen required. The same screen will be used for overhead projectors. The unused screen area is acceptable. Question 3: For LCD Projector, the spec only indicates XGA resolution. In terms of brightness measurement, is there an approximate lumen rating that has been specified? Answer 3: Any lumen rating equal or better than Proxima 1.3 XGA 2500 lumens 700:1 Contrast Ratio is acceptable. Question 4: How tall are the ceilings in these rooms? What type of ceiling (Drop Grid, Spline, etc?) Answer 4: All rooms have 10' ceiling (from floor to acoustic panels). The space between the acoustic panel and the concrete (on w hich the projector mount will be attached) is about one foot. The type of ceiling is concrete, flat. Question 5: What is required for Control System -- The Touch Control Panel integrated into lectern surface or wireless? Color or Black and White? Answer 5: Touch Control Panel shall be integrated into lectern surface. It can be buttons on the panel. It does not have to be touch screen. Question 6: Shall the components (Master Control Unit, Amplifier, etc.) reside in the lectern or in separate location in a rack? Answer 6: The components shall be housed in the lectern. Question 7: Supply a drawing so that we can properly estimate the pricing. Answer 7: Please e-mail to request.
