- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to negotiate a Purchase Order with TML Information Services, Inc. for the Commercial Motor Carrier Registration and Fuel Tax Implementation Support with Mexico Project. The objective of this project is to develop an immediate method of implementing a reciprocal agreement between Mexico and the United States on registration and fuel tax activities. TML has a working relationship and understand the operation of all of the entities involved such as the Mexican Secretaria de Communicaciones y Transpottes (SCT), American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA), International Registration Plan, Inc., International Fuel Tax Agreement, Inc., both trucking associations in Mexico, etc. These organizations are critical for the coordination of activities to meet the implementation schedule of the states. TML also assisted the Mexican SCT with the implementation of a motor carrier central registration system in Mexico City in addition to developing an on-line access system for driver licensing and an access system that interfaces with a network connecting all motor vehicle administrators in the US and Canada. Because TML Information Services, Inc. has highly focused expertise and experience in registration and fuel tax systems, extensive technical knowledge in implementing an electronic exchange with Mexico for a cooperative data flow between the US and Mexico, has developed several access system?s that are vital to this project and has established working relationships with the Mexican agencies and all the other entities involved, they are the only known source available that have the knowledge and capability to successfully complete this project and meet the objectives in a short time frame. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is August 24, 2001.
