Description

This synopsis/solicitation is for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information not included in this notice. Proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will be issued. The Solicitation Number is MDA410-01-Q-0255 and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). This action will be processed using simplified acquisition procedures and incorporates provision and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27. The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is a federal government agency, tax exempt, an education activity and qualifies for academic/educational pricing and discounts. FSC Code: S209, Laundry & Dry Cleaning Services. NAICS Code: 812332, Industrial Launderers. Size Standard: $10.5 M Preference is given to Small and Small Disadvantaged Businesses. The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), Quantico Dependents School System is seeking and intends to award a purchase order for janitorial and maintenance uniform rental services to include a Base Year (1 October 2001 through 30 September 2002) and four Option Year periods (if exercised). The contractor shall pickup and deliver industrial uniforms for the custodial and maintenance staff at Quantico on a weekly basis during the Base Year period of 1 October 2001 through 30 September 2002. Options are included and may or may not be exercised by the government. Services shall include, but not be limited to cleaning and pressing of uniforms for approximately twenty-three (23) staff. Employee names and quantities may vary. Uniforms shall be 65% Polyester and 35% Cotton. Each uniform shall include two patches, one with the employee's name and one with the employee's agency (samples included in solicitation). Each staff member shall have five (5) weekly changes to include eleven (11) shirts or smocks, eleven (11) pants, and two (2) jackets. Uniforms should be blue. There are two Supervisors, which shall have white shirts instead of blue. Pick up and delivery points are attached. Contractors who believe that they can meet this requirement are invited to submit information demonstrating their ability to meet this requirement. Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) are mandatory for award and payment. The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is an education activity and qualifies for academic/educational pricing. .
