Description

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has a requirement for erection of a temporary greenhouse at its Urban Watershed Research Facility in Edison, New Jersey. The greenhouse will be used as part of an ongoing research program for determining pollutant removal efficiencies of various wetland plants. The contractor shall provide and erect a fully-functional fabric structure approximately 30 feet wide by 96 feet long with a minimum 8-foot center wall height. The greenhouse shall have transparent end walls and shall be connected to water, electric and sanitary sewage utilities. Additionally, the contractor shall equip the greenhouse with appropriate heating, ventilation, and cooling equipment. An impervious liner, overlain with sand dust cover, shall be installed beneath the entire structure to prevent seepage of spilled materials into the ground. This is a best value acquisition, with price and past performance being the principal evaluation factors. A 4-month contract performance period is anticipated. The estimated price range is between $25,000 and $75,000. The solicitation will be released through the internet on EPA's home page at www.epa.gov/oam/cmd_cinn/.
