Description

The U. S. Army Natick Research and Development Enterprise at the Soldier and Biological Chemical Command, Natick, MA is conducting a market investigation to identify domestic products, suppliers and manufacturers of personal drinking water containers/syste ms designed for on-the-move drinking/hydration. The U.S. Army is interested in identifying firms with capabilities to provide/design/develop a personal, on-the-move hydration system for use by the combat soldier in mission areas of potential nuclear, biol ogical and chemical (NBC) contamination. The NBC compatible drinking system must be capable of at least the following: a. Provide an on-the-move drinking system for Soldiers while wearing Modular Load Carrying Equipment (MOLLE) and/or Land Warrior Syste ms. b. Be compatible with /operable in/ resistant to an NBC environment. c. Be capable of interfacing with current and near-future NBC protective masks and protective ensemble. Both disposable/non-recoverable item concepts and clean/reissue item conce pts will be considered. Interested sources must, within thirty (30) days following the publication of this synopsis, respond with information on their current commercial product(s) and how they are made or could be modified to address the Military require ment. Interested sources shall include information detailed in CBD Note 25 regarding a firm's experience, personnel, and facilities. Information should include product cost, technical information (i.e., technical literature, data and illustrations), rele vant company background/experience, and a sample. Firms responding shall indicate whether or not they are a small business. Any information/samples submitted will not be returned. If a firm chooses to submit samples, no payment will be made by the Gover nment for such samples. Responses to this notice are to be sent to Mr. Christopher Pentheny, U. S.
