Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract Acoustic Systems of Austin TX for the purchase, installation and testing of an audiometric sound booth for the VA Hospital, Madison WI. Anticipated internal dimensions of the double walled exam room will be 88"x 84". The exam room doors must have full glass windows, size 20" X 60" with a clear width opening of 36 inches and a clear height opening of 73 inches. To the best of our knowledge, Acoustic Systems is the only company, which manufacturers an audiometric sound booth with a full glass window as required. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes however, responses received on or before noon on August 22, 2001 will be evaluated. Offerors responding to this notice must provide proof that that they have experience in providing the equipment specified. Information must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer and at a minimum include informational brochures of the type of booth, company literature, plus three references from similar facilities who have an existing booth with a full glass window. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the government. If no affirmative written response is received within 10 days from the publication of this synopsis, a contract may be negotiated with Acoustic System without further notice.
