Description
The Bureau of Reclamation's Grand Coulee Project, Grand Coulee, WA, has a requirement to design and furnish a high quality dust collection and ventilation system equipment for the coaster gate repair chamber at the dam. The portable system will be housed in a trailer on top of the dam and connected by ducts to the chamber inside the dam. The Government has established the minimum requirements for the system and will provide a portion of the system design. The contractor will be required to design the remainder of the system using a licensed engineer. The purpose of the system is to collect dust or paint-fume laden air from the coaster gate chamber where repair work for the coaster gate will be conducted. The Government will install the system. All items are FOB Grand Coulee Left Powerhouse, Grand Coulee Dam, Washington. We anticipate issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) in September 2001 and offers will be due 30 days after the RFP is posted. The RFP will be posted in Adobe Acrobat .pdf format on our website at www.pn.usbr.gov/contracts and will include digital photos of the site. Reclamation reserves the right to issue the RFP on paper or CD if it's determined to be Reclamation's interest to do so. Offerors should visit the website approximately15 days after this notice first appears in the paper CBD to download the RFP files. Offerors are strongly encouraged to register via the website to be included on the offeror list in order to receive convenient e-mail notification of amendments and to encourage subcontracting opportunities. A link for registration will be available shortly before, or concurrent with, the posting of the solicitation and a list of parties who've registered will be posted shortly after that. Offerors will be evaluated on their proposed equipment, design, successful past performance of similar requirements, the quality and capabilities of their proposed manufacturing facilities, and price, among other factors. At this time, a site visit has not been scheduled but the RFP will include specifics for site visits as well as providing a contact point for the visits. For this acquisition the small business size standard is 500 employees and the NAICS code is 333411. This requirement is 100% set-aside for small businesses. See Numbered Note 1.
