Description
I. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented, with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Written quotations will not be issued and each contractor is expected to respond on his/her letterhead with all required product information. RFQ 521-1175-1634 is hereby assigned to this procurement and shall be referenced on all correspondence relating to this acquisition. This RFQ is issued using Simplified Acquisition Procedures and incorporates all provisions and clauses as those in effect through FAC 97-27 and VAAR 97-1. The DVA Medical Center, Birmingham, AL intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc., Life Science Group, 2000 Alfred Nobel Drive, Hercules, CA 94547 for a Biologic Duo-Flow System w/Model 2128 Fraction Collector and Quad Tec HR Detector Kit. The following are the minimum specifications for the purchase of the above-mentioned system. II. REQUIREMENTS: The following are the minimum specifications for the purchase of the Biologic Duo-Flow Protein Purification System is suitable for both analytical and preparative protein purification. This dual functionality is accomplished with two, easily interchangeable pumps. F10 pump head: 0.01-10ml/min at 3500psi. F40 pump head: 0.5-40mL/min at 1000psi. Supports up to three low-pressure valves for buffer selection, sample selection and fraction collection. Supports up to three high-pressure vales for column selection to facilitate methods development and reverse flow capability for affinity chromatography applications. High Pressure vales are made with patented Make-Before-Break (MBB) technology. III. SOFTWARE same software platform for use with both F10 and F40 pump heads: purchasing an additional software package to use with the optional F40 pump Upgrade Kit is not necessary. Software alias features for easy programming. Edit-on-the-fly feature to easily modify the protocol while a Run is in progress. IV. BIOLOGIC DUO-FLOW system w/Model 2128 Fraction Collector Demo. Biologic Duo-Flow Controller, minimum specifications of Pentium 300 MHz 60b hard drive, 32 mb RAM, 3.5" diskette drive, 32X CD ROM drive; Biocompatible dual-pump system with 10 ml/min pump head @ 3,5000psi; 17" Multi-Media Color Monitor with built-in speakers; Three-tiered Racking System; Make-Before-Break Sample Inject Valve; 245/280 mm and 5 mm UV flow cell, conductivity flow cell. Model 2128 Fraction Collection; Collection Rack #1, and Model 2128 Diverter Valve. WORKSTATION All-PEEK pump heads to preserve biocompatibility of the sample. V. FRACTURE COLLECTION user may choose either a Bio-Rad fraction (Models 2110 or 2128) or a third party fraction collector. The Model 2128 fraction collector has versatile fraction collection schemes ranging from micro plate to liter-size collection. VI. SAMPLE LOADING The Biologic Duo-Flow System is compatible with optional Auxiliary Pump for loading both small and large sample volumes. VII. OTHER DETECTORS USE OF signal Import Module (SIM-HR) to import signals from other detectors, such as Ri, pH, UV, and fluorescence. VIII. COLD-ROOM COMPATABILITY workstation easily fits into a single-door cold "deli" box and connects to the external Duo-Flow Controller via a single bus cable. IX. The delivery date will be no later than 30 days after award of contract. Contract award is subject to the availability of funds.
