Description

Air Force Research Laboratory, (AFRL/SNAR) solicits research proposals for the Precise Multi-INT Registration (PREMIR) program. The objective of this program is to fully automate precision target location and accurate sensor data geo-registration capabilities for future distributed time and distributed platform sensing. Various technical challenges that should be addressed include representation and accounting of sensor errors (including time varying) and uncertainty reference information, proper weighting of geo-information for improved fused accuracy, and utilizing sufficient invariant features across sensor types. The focus of this effort will be on means to register various IMINT sensor data that may be mixed with improved geo-registered off-board SIGINT data and cues. This work will make progress towards various needs including: improving detection and location of ground targets, precise geo-positioning of significant objects, and automated, interactive cross-cueing of targets between sensor platforms. Software, models, and techniques from this effort will be directly applicable to advanced targeting, combat ID, and situation assessment demonstrations.
