Description

Architect/Engineer Services to provide all services required to perform a comprehensive assessment of the existing electrical distribution system, prepare and furnish complete construction documents consisting of contract drawings, technical specifications, design analysis, detailed estimates and projected construction schedules and assist the VA Medical Center with miscellaneous construciton period services as required for the accomplishment of project number 538-01-103, entitled "REPLACE ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION" at the VA Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. The facility is currently supplied electrical power by American Electric Power (AEP). AEP distributes their electrical service at 12.47kV, which is reduced at the distribution center to 4160-volts by a VA owned transformer. The facility needs are distributed throughout the facility at 4160-volts via 7 individual primary circuits. At 38 key building locations the electrical service is further reduced to either 480/277-volts or 208/120-volt building services by 38 VA owned transformers. This project entails the replacement of the existing 4160-volt distribution system including the transformers, 5kV primary distribution switchgear, transformers and 5kV cabling. The new electrical distribution system shall match the existing AEP 12.47kV service utilized in the Chillicothe and Ross County area. Prior to design the A/E shall complete a comprehensive assessment and make recommendations for the design of the new distriution system including estimated costs. The A/E shall provide schematics detailing all phases of the project. The construciton project shll be designed in two phases. The A/E shall provide contract documents for phase I only. The estimated cost range of the construction is $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00. The geographical limitation for consideration is limited to within the state of Ohio. Submissions from firms located outside the geographical area shall not be considered.Qualified A/E firms desiring consideration must submit documentation outlining in-house capabilities to complete all phases of the required services in addition to the appropriate data as described in Numbered Note 24 no later than c.o.b. September 25, 2001. Any requrests for additional information on this project muat be submitted to the Contracting Officer in writing. Award of a contract is subject to availability of funds.
