- Description
- The University of California, which operates the Los Alamos Nationa Laboratory (LANL) under contract to the Department of Energy (DOE), is seeking interested potential Offerers who possess extensive Waste Management experience at Nuclear Facilities Operations to respond to a requirement made necessary by the expiration of long term subcontract arrangements at Los Alamos. This requirement will be to provide technical support in the safe, compliant, and efficient management of all waste generated as a result of activities at Los Alamos. Activities include receipt, characterization, storage, processing, treatment, transportation, and disposal of all waste generated by the Laboratory. The LANL facility consists of 49 technical areas (TAs), some of which generate radioactive (TRU & LLRW), chemical, hazardous and mixed (hazardous + Radioactive waste as a result of research and development activities, processing and recovery operations and D&D projects. Request for Proposal, (RFP) 26725-RFP-01-CQ, which will be issued in response to this new requirement, will result in a Task Ordering Agreement that will provide the referenced technical support services relating to Waste Management Activities to University of California Los Alamos. Interested potential Offerers will soon be able to download a copy of RFP 26725-RFP-01-CQ from the Los Alamos National Laboratory web- site at: http://bus.lanl.gov/bus5/vendor/solicitations/default.htm It is the University's intent to award one competitive Task Ordering Agreement with a maximum ceiling amount of $20M. The expected award date for this acquisition is January 01, 2002. The work scope that will be included in the resultant Task Ordering Agreement will include an instant requirement for performance of a specific Task Assignment required by LANL. The Task Ordering Agreement Statement of Work also includes provisions for long-term Waste Management assistance and technical support on an as required basis. It is expected that both the master Task Ordering Agreement and Task Order Number One will be awarded simultaneously. The university wishes to award this subcontract prior to January 01, 2001, Therefore all interested parties are urged to monitor the aforementioned WEB site and download, when available, Request for Proposal RFP 26725-RFP-01-3Y and its associated attachments.
