Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate with Clestra Hauserman, Inc., of Fairfax, VA on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source and FAR Part 13.5 -- Test Program for Certain Commercial Items for the purchase of Clestra Hauserman's CCF and CP3 Partition Components. These Clestra Hauserman Type CCF and CP3 partition components are to be used as stock partition parts for the General Purpose Laboratories on the NIST site. The Type CCF steel partition components must be completely interchangeable with the original E. F. Hauserman Type CCF partition that were installed within the General Purpose Laboratories during the original construction of the NIST site. E. F. Hauserman Company was the parent company of Clestra Hauserman, Inc. Clestra Hauserman, Inc. has retained the original patented design details, data manuals, and special production tooling for the remanufacturing of these antiquated partition components. Since Clestra Hauserman has the capability to remanufacture these partition components due to the retention of the original production tooling and design documentation, Clestra Hauserman, Inc. is the sole supplier for Type CCF partition components. The E. F. Hauserman Company was also the original manufacturer of the CP3 partition and components currently being used in the Advanced Chemical Science Laboratory, Bldg. 227, at NIST. These partition components will be discontinued within the next 60-90 days. There is no inventory of these parts currently available for space modifications to this building. These are the only completely interchangeable parts available and since Clestra Hauserman has retained all design, patent and tooling capabilities for this partition system, they are the sole supplier for this material. The components are listed in the CCF and CP3 specification attachments, which are located at http://www.fedbizops.gov/ under reference number, 01-351-5229. The Government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price purchase order for the items identified as "Base". The required delivery date is 30 days ARO. The items categorized as "Option" may be purchased at a later date under this procurement without additional advertising of the Government requirement. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by August 30, 2001. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) package is not available. The NAICS code for this requirement is 337215 with a size standard of 500 employees. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
