Description

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Western Area, intends to procure document shredding services to service its Southern California IRS offices. The contractor shall provide all labor, qualified, authorized and licensed uniformed security guards, properly secured transportation, vehicles and drivers, equipment, materials, work facilities on secured premises and supervision necessary in the performance of the contract. The contractor shall furnish the required number of secured 64-gallon locked bins for each IRS office location covered under the contract (estimated 123 bins, approximately 20 IRS locations). It is required that all of the IRS documents and other security waste be destroyed in one of the following ways: (i) shredding to effect 5/16 inch wide or smaller strips; (ii) pulping to be accomplished in such a manner that all material is reduced to particles one inch or smaller; (iii) disintegrating to be accomplished with 1/2 inch or smaller screen; (iv) burning to effect complete incineration. The contractor shall complete the destruction services required within five (5) workdays after pick-up. Prior to issuance of order, IRS disclosure personnel will visit the contractor's destruction site to ensure compliance with the security requirements of the order. The IRS requires such services from 10/01/01 through 09/30/02. The IRS contemplates an award of fixed-price per bin tipped resulting from this solicitation. Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. TIRWR-01-Q-00108 will be available o/a 08/31/01 and closing o/a 9/14/01.
