Description

The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate a sole source, firm-fixed price contract with Stabilisator, L.L.C., Springfield, VA, under Request for Quote (RFQ) 808298.This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) web site http://www.fedbisopps.gov. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Stabilisator, L.L.C is to provide the following items: 1) 1 each, Stabilisator 3000 A1-AEX; 2) 1 each, Multi-Weapons Kit for Rifles; 3) 2 each Handgun Kits; 4) 1 each, Impact Collimator; 5) 1 each Fiberglas Storing/Transport Box; 6) 1 each, Standard Mount; and, 7) On-site training for three Ballistic Research Facility's employees. Based on market research via catalogues, the World Wide Web sites, and trade shows, it has been determined that the FBI's requirements for a system that can hold any type of firearms (pistols, submachine guns, shotguns, etc.), be easily interchangeable from one firearms type to another, dissipate the recoil normally absorbed by a shooter, be easily and infinitely adjustable for windage and elevation, allow for rapid follow up shots, have robust construction for years of service, yet still be movable by two men, and be a tested and fielded item can only be provided by Stabilisator, L.L.C., Springfield, VA. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals to this office by 2:00 PM, EDT, Monday, August 27, 2001, via facsimile to the attention of Ms. Theresa M. Powell, Contracting Officer, (703) 632-1607. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification System number is 333512, the size standard is 500 employees.
