Description

This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. NASA/DFRC plans to procure a video tracker, flush mount correlation capability for VME computer with Windows NT. Titan System Corporation model number 6004. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 NASA/DFRC intends to purchase the items from Titan System Corporation. The Titan DBA Systems unit has been fully integrated and tested with the MVSP. Awarding to any another source would result in a substatial duplication of cost to the government which could not be recovered through the use of full and open competition. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Nimri Niemchak, fax number (661) 276-2904 or e-mail at Nimri.Niemchak@dfrc.nasa.gov no later than 4:30 p.m. Pacific time on August 27, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
