Description
The US Army ARDEC is seeking sources to manage the interfaces in regards to the Tank Extended Range Munition (TERM) System. This system consists of a 120mm tank munition which must be integrated into the Abrams tank system, be supported by appropriate Command and Control systems such as the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data Systems (AFATDS) and Force XX1 Battle Command Brigade-and Below (FBCB2) and function in coordination with battlefield sensors. At this stage in development considerable work needs to be done in the refinement of tactics, which will have an effect on systems interfaces. It is intended that the contractor work with the Project Managers and system contractors of the systems mentioned above to optimize their respective systems from an overall system viewpoint within funding and schedule constraints as the tactics are evolved. The contractor will also have to work closely with the Armor, Fire Support, Infantry and Aviation schools. This effort is intended to establish and demonstrate the TERM System to the point where the program is ready for System Development and Demonstration. ARDEC is seeking sources that have experience in the following areas: 120mm tank ammunition; Systems Integration of fire control and ammunition with the Abrams tank, Battlefield sensors in Long Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System, Bradley Fire Support Team Vehicle, Striker and Bradley Infantry and Calvary Fighting Vehicles along with their tactical employment; Armor, Fire Support, Infantry and Aviation Tactics on the battlefield; Command and Control Systems such as Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data Systems (AFATDS) and Force XX1 Battle Command Brigade-and Below (FBCB2); System Analysis and Trade Studies to Optimize Overall performance and Command, Control, Communication, Computers, and Intelligence Support Plan(C4ISP) preparation. It is anticipated that this requirement will be a small business set-aside. Firms interested in participating in this research and development acquisition must submit a capability statement adequately describing past experience in the areas cited above. A Secret clearance level is required. Firms must indicate in their response the level of clearance possessed. The Government will evaluate responses. A Commerce Business Daily announcement will be issued prior to the release of the solicitation.
