Description

This requirement was initially synopsized on July 23, 2001. This requirement is hereby changes the following: 1) corrects the Solicitation number; 2) revises the service area as follows: The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Appalachian Fruit Research Station (AFRS), located at 45 Wiltshire Road, Kearneysville, West Virginia and the National Center for Cool and Cold Water Aquaculture (NCCCWA) located at 11876 Leetown Road, Kearneysville, West Virginia. ARS requires basic janitorial services for laboratory and administrative office cleaning, rest room cleaning and stocking, and trash removal. The period of performance for this performance based service contract will be from October 1, 2001 through September 30, 2002 (base period), and four (4) renewable 1-year options. Work hours will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, excluding weekends and Federal holidays. The Contractor shall work three (3) days each week at the AFRS facility and two (2) days each week at the NCCCWA facility. The AFRS facility consists of approximately 18,520 square feet of area of tiled laboratory space, 11,360 square feet of carpeted office space and seven (7) restrooms, including the Farm Center facility (approximately 3,000 sq. ft.). The Farm Center facility consists of an office, an all purpose room that doubles as a lunchroom, two restrooms with showers and one hallway. The NCCCWA facility consists of approximately 21,000 square feet of area in the laboratory/office building and another 13,870 square feet in the Aquaria building. The NCCCWA facility currently houses 9 employees, but will continually be changing during the length of this contract. Within the duration of this contract the staff will increase to approximately 35-40 employees. This is a total small business set-aside. The NAICS is 56172 with a small business size of $12 million. Corrects the Solicitation number to 20-3615-01 which will be available on or about August 31, 2001. Award of this requirement is pending availability of FY-2002 funding.
