Background "NOTICE: A facility visit will be held on 24 Aug 01 at 1:00 PM in order that offerors may inspect the site where work is to be performed and to satisfy themselves as to all general and local conditions that may affect the cost of performance of the contract to the extend such information is available. Offerors are requested to notify Ms. Helen Williams, ASC/PKWOSB, 937-257-6147 x4424, if they plan to attend. Please respond by 10:00 AM, 24 Aug 01. NOTE: Current solicitation Number F33601-01-R-0049 was used in error, and is no longer valid. Although the PIXS posting will continue to identify this procurement by that number, solicitation number F33601-01-T-0518 is correct. All attachments (solicitation, SOW, etc.) to this notice will be identified as F33601-01-T-0518. This is only a change in the solicitation number, and all other requirements of the original posting still apply. Estimated issue date of F33601-01-T-0518 is 13 August 2001. Non-personal services to provide 40 HOURS PER WEEK ON-SITE coverage for maintenance and repair of NON-ADPE hardware for navigation and flight control simulation equipment, guidance equipment, global positioning satellite (GPS), and including two remote-controlled GPS test vehicles. In addition to the maintenance and repair, the contractor shall provide training for the Government, or Government sponsored personnel, in the operation of all integrated NG&C equipment. Contractor must be thoroughly knowledgeable of the architecture, operation and interfacing of Integrated Navigation Systems, GPS receivers, flight control equipment and supporting peripherals, including Sun and SGI workstations and PC's. The contractor shall be qualified to provide comprehensive maintenance support for the laboratory equipment at both the user and system level. Period of Performance is 01 Oct 2001 through 30 Sep 2002. Four one-year options may be awarded. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued electronically and posted on the ASC Pre-Award Information Exchange System (PIXS) web site at: http www.pixs.wpafb.af.mil on or about 23 July 2001. The purposes of the Ombudsman is to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements,and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. Existance of an Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or the contracting officer.
