Description

VA VISN 22 Network Business Center intends to negotiate a COMMERCIAL ITEM (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with Bio Rad Labs under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-27. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition is being prepared in support of this acquisition. This procurement is to obtain a Full Service Maintenance Agreement for the Remedi HS Drug Profiling System for the West Los Angeles Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 11301 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90073. Minimum requirements are: Full Service Agreement with Unlimited On-Site Service and Two (2) Preventive Maintenance Inspections Per Year; Emergency Service Calls at No Extra Charge; No Charge Loaners; Unlimited On-Site Service Dispatched within 24 Hrs. of Request; All Labor, Parts and Travel Expenses Included with Agreement; Scheduled Preventive Maintenance Inspections to Include Complete System Check Out; Tests to Assure Equipment is Functioning According to Factory Acceptable Standards; Replacement of Worn Parts, Lubricate/Clean/Calibrate/Align and Certify Accuracy and Precision of Equipment. The Government intends to award a firm, fixed-price contract for base year, with options for four (4) years beyond base year for Maintenance of the Remedi HS Drug Profiling System. Interested person may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit a proposal. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. All proposals received by 3:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time, August 31, 2001, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
