Description

The Bureau of the Census in Jeffersonville, Indiana intends to procure one floor mounted folding machine. This machine must be able to fold documents up to 11 x 17 into a sheet as little as 5.5 x 8.5 in a single pass and feed and fold paper from a minimum weight of 45 pound offset to a maximum weight of 90 pound cover. A top feeding pile feeder with vacuum and air assist is required. The folder must provide computer control to automatically position the fold plate stops, set fold roller gaps, alignment rails, and delivery rollers. The computer must have a memory able to store up to 60 custom jobs including the following settings: fold plates, fold sizes, speed, sheet gap, shingling of sheets, suction leigth, counting functions, double sheet paper travel control and position of alignment rails. This machine must be capable of operating twenty four hours per day, seven days per week, for several months with no more than 10% downtime for preventative maintenance.
