Description

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences intends to award a sole source purchase order to K&R Technology (Syngene), Frederick, MD, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) -- Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for the purchase of 1 each 05-E027 Gene Gnome System & Darkroom Kit consisting of: 16-bit cooled CCD camera, computer, flat screen monitor, data acquisition card and software, GeneTools analysis software (4 licenses), thermal printer (monochrome). Darkroom (for routine gel applications) consists of Syngene darkroom (8-bit camera, motorized zoom lens, UV filter, closeup lens), transilluminator (20x30 viewing surface), UV-to-White light converter screen and motorized filter wheel, external Read/Write CD. Also includes Training and Installation. The system has the following unique features that are required for our research program: 1) Contains two cameras (one 16-bit dedicated for chemiluminescence and one 8-bit for standard gel image acquisition), 2) Free software upgrades for lifetime of instrument, 3) Contains cameras within fully enclosed compartments with all controls motorized and accessible from outside the instrument, 4) System fully automated for compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), 5) Three-year comprehensive warranty, and 6) One button acquisition, one button analysis, and one button data export. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 5 days of closing date of notice to Dee Lunney at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 5 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with the K&R Technology. The NAICS Code/Size is 339111/500EM. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
