Description

Planning for the 2001 Acquistion and Logistics Excellence Week (ALEW) is underway for the Ogden Air Logistics Center. The purpose for this event is to strengthen the partnership between government and private industry while providing guidance and insight into the evolving government acquisition and logistics excellence initiatives. The Air Force theme for this year is "From Acquisition Reform to Acquisition Excellence". The events and topics should prove to be very informative for private industries as well as government personnel. It is expected the involvement this year will be the best ever. The ALEW events will begin on 11 Sep 01 with a Partnering with Industry day. This day will include speakers from both private industry and the government. There will be a panel of highly qualified individuals who will provide answers to an array of questions from the audience. The day will begin with Check-in and a Continental Breakfast from 0715-0800. The morning sessions will be filled with Government VIP speakers and tag team presentations by government and industry managers. The afternoon interactive sessions will also include government and industry tag team presenters. Look for the topics to be discussed in the next few weeks. Topics will be selected based on the availability of subject material and presenters. The partnership event will be followed by two days of continuing education opportunities on various subjects of acquisition and logistics for both industry and government personnel. The continuing education sessions will provide acquisition continuous learning for the government work force and will be presented on 12 -- 13 Sep 01 at Hill AFB. There will be no fee for the continuing education events. As soon as the schedule of events and more details have been worked out, the agenda and price for the partnership day will be announced.
