National Maritime Intelligence Center/Office of Naval Intelligence/Marine Corps Intelligence Center Forum "Enabling Asymmetric Threat Analysis & Production Through IT Solutions" Friday, September 7, 2001 Suitland, MD The Director of U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence is hosting a two-day conference assisted by MITRE Corporation and FBC at the National Maritime Intelligence Center as a forum for CINCS, Services, Defense Agencies (C/S/A), commercial industry, and academia to present their current methodologies and tools for managing asymmetric threat information. Although the focal point of the conference is asymmetric threat information management, information management in general is an intelligence community (IC) wide problem. Other organizations are working on this fundamental problem. However, as the lead for the Director, DIA's Asymmetric Threat Senior Steering Group (ATSSG), the Director of U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence is in a position to complement these existing efforts by pulling the IC, industry and academia together under a common, asymmetric threat information management goal. There is a Speaking opportunity available with lunch sponsorship: "Looking for vendors that can provide information on software/architecture for data mining, natural language processing, pattern/trend analysis, link relationship derivation, structured & unstructured information aggregation & management for re-purposing/re-using by multiple media channels, facilitation of real-time recall/presentation to other information systems (ie. Standards-based, open application integration technology/methodologies), etc. Note: All technology/application presentations should be based on open standards and not the XML family of standardized technologies." Forum Attendees Include Approximately 100 Representatives from: CENTCOM CINC, EUCOM CINC, JFCOM CINC, PACOM CINC, SOUTHCOM CINC, SOCOM CINC, SPACECOM CINC, STRATCOM CINC, TRANSCOM CINC, Office of Naval Intelligence, FBI, Treasury, National Maritime Intelligence Center, and the Marine Corps Intelligence Activity. The exposition will also be open to all personnel at the facility. The exposition will be held on day 2 of the forum.
