- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are bein g requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is DAHA06-01-Q-0026 and is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). SIC code is 3541, with size standard of 500. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and cl auses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27. The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business concerns. The Connecticut Army National Guard, AVCRAD Facility has a requirement for one Grinding Machine, Cylindrical. The Government considers Cylindrical Grinding Machine, Model MG-12HM, manufactured by Myford, LTD., or equal to meet the minimum requirements of the Government. The minimum salient physical, functional and performance characteristics that an equal item must m eet to be acceptable are as follows: A fully hydraulic Cylindrical Grinding Machine, capacity of 5 inch x 12 inch; hydraulic table traverse with dwell control; hydraulic rapid advance/retract of wheelhead to facilitate loading/unloading; automatic mechanic al wheelhead infeed on traverse grinding; wheelhead advances on one side or the other only; operator must retract wheelhead at the end of the grind; manual plunge grinding capability, operator must initiate the hydraulic retract of the wheelhead at the end of grind; table swivels ten degrees either way; motor driven live spindle and dead center variable speeds from 50 to 900 rpm; motor driven wheelhead arranged for the mounting of the motor-driven swing down internal attachment including mounting bracket, c ontactor and switch; cartridge type wheel spindle unit with nitralloy spindle; automatic lubrication for wheelhead and carriage slideways; grinding wheel 12 inch x 1.5 inch x 5 inch bore, recessed .25 inch both sides; grinding wheel adapter w/balance weigh ts; extractor for grinding wheel adapter; grinding wheel balancing arbor, tailstock incorporating diamond holder (without diamond); table type wheel dresser (without diamond); one pair work centers; two guns one oil/one grease; electric pump & coolant se rvice fittings; counter weight, guards and belts, one set spanners and keys; arranged for self contained motor-drive to wheelhead, workhead and coolant pump, including motors, control-gear in external electrical cabinet mounted on right side of machine, an d all internal wiring, arranged for 230/460 volts, 3 phase, 60 cycle, wired 208 volts; micrometer carriage stops. The following wheel accessories must be included: grinding wheel 12 inch x 1.5 inch x 5 inch; extra wheel adapters for 12 inch x 5 inch bore wheels; wheel balancing stand for 12 inch wheels; .75 carat diamond .5 inch diameter shank for standard equipment table and tailstock wheel dressers. The following workholding devices must be included: 3.25 inch three jaw bumerd Griptru geared scroll c huck .0001 repeat with adapter MG6703/2; 3.25 inch four jaw independent bumerd chuck with adapter MG6811/2; 5 inch diameter faceplate with adapter MG6703/2; Rear operated lever collet closing mechanism with draw tube and adapter for G8006 4C collets; The f ollowing Internal Grinding Equipment must be included: Swingdown internal grinding attachment, less spindle complete with .75 HP motor and automatic, mechanically operated grinding wheel guard; Spindle with drive belt, 16,150 rpm, for holes from .75 inch to 2 inch diameter with 2 quills, one for .25 inch bore holes, one for 3/8 inch bore wheels, both having 3 inch extension; 1/8 inch collet for mounted wheels; 3/16 inch collet for mounted wheels; .25 inch collet for mounted wheels for above; 3/8 inch colle t for mounted wheels; equipment to provide coolant through workhead spindle for use with lever operated and pneumatic operated G7006 type collet attachment, inc luding set of 20/155 basic equipment and adapter with feed pipe assembly and plug. Machine supplied with swiveling workhead in lieu of standard workhead, with head matched to tailstock. A coolant clarifier comprising electric pump and coolant service fit tings, paper roll filter, in lieu of standard coolant system. All equipment must be new and conform to all applicable standards and specifications. The Acquisition will be FOB Destination with Delivery and Acceptance point at the Connecticut AVCRAD, 139 Tower Ave, Groton-New London Airport, Groton, Connecticut 06340-5300. Delivery date shall be within 60 days of receipt of order. Award will be based on the evaluation of quotes for conformity to the synopsis/solicitation, technical capability of equipmen t, price and past performance information to include persons of contact on the last three contracts for similar equipment. The provision of FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations, applies to this RFQ. A completed and signed copy of this provision shall be submitted with all offers.
