Description

The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk Naval Shipyard Annex, Portsmouth Virginia is issuing a sources sought notice for a requirement for various sizes of shielding, solid lead, vinyl/nylon cloth cover. The sizes are as follows: 1) "x 4"x60", straight, 25 pounds, TLS-3, 2) "x4"x60", 2"gore, 20 pounds, TLS 4, 3) "x6"x48", 2" gore, 22 pounds, TLS 21G, 4) "X6"X60", 2 gore, 35 pounds, TLS 22G and 5) 1/8"x2 "x24", straight, 2 pounds, TLS 10S. Shielding, shall be a " or 1/8" solid lead (as specified within the drawings) to be used as shielding for attenuation of gamma radiation. Shall be fabricated in accordance with drawings outlining materials and instructions that will be provided. Contractor shall provide one production sample piece of each shielding type for evaluation prior to award of a contract.
