Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to purchase a FluorChem 8800 Advanced Fluorescence, Chemiluminescence & Visible Imaging System with the following accessories: 1) Iomega Zip Drive 100MB Internal; 2) 17" Flat Panel Display; 3) Optional Motorized Optics Kit (upgrade FluorChem to Motorized 12.5 x 75mm zoom lens with controller, cables, camera mount and gasket); 4) Optional Adjustable Tray Kit (adjustable tray for FluorChem DE-500 cabinets with sample targets, difusor screen, and tray holder brackets); 5) AIC Large Format Digital Thermal Grayscale Printer (includes cables, custom driver and one roll of thermal paper); 6) GFP Filter (for gels or plates stained with Green Fluorescent Protein strains); 7) AlphaEase FC Stand Alone Software; 8) Additional AlphaEase security HASP; 9) Optional Reflective Epi-UV Lights for GFP plate illumination (365nm); 10) Optional Reflective Epi-Chromolight Blue Conversion Screen; 11) High Contrast Glossy Paper. This system must meet the following specifications: A) At least a 30 frame per second readout in a focus mode with full CCD sensor resolution for easy sample position. B) Movie Mode image acquisition with user defined exposure times, lighting options, filter selection and resolution for each movie frame. C) Ability to automatically gather 48-bit RGB color images as well as 16-bit gray scale images. D) ChromaLight option. E) DUAL broad band, EVENSCAN UV transillumination and epi-illumination from 265-390nm. F) Virtual Control for all lighting and filters controlled mechanically with MultiImage cabinet. G) Motorized 5 position filter wheel. H) Pullout tray for easy gel access. I) 52 instant image enhancement tools. J) 8 analysis tools for MW, array, 1D and 2D densitometry, automatic colony counting, manual counting, gel scoring and object distance measuring. The Institute intends to obtain the scientific equipment by other than full and open competition from Alpha Innotech Corp., 14743 Catalina Street, San Leandro, CA 94577, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. To the best of the Government's knowledge, they are the sole manufacturer and distributor of this equipment, which fulfills the specified mandatory specifications. Interested vendors may identify in writing their interest with a capability statement to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all responses received before the closing date of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
