- CORRECTION TO AN EXTENSION OF PREVIOUS SOLICITATION NOTICE; PREVIOUS RESPONDERS NEED NOT RE-APPLY. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. This is a Request for Proposal (RFP); a written solicitation will not be issued. The Food and Drug Administration is soliciting for a State-of-the-art Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization (MALDI) Time-of-flight Mass Spectrometer. The system shall include reflectron capability, 30kV acceleration voltage (or better), state-of-the-art extraction field and focusing optics, time lag focusing, ultra stable high voltage power supplies, minimum 500 MHz 8 bit digization with 256,000 channel (500 us) 16 bit multi channel analyzer, 750,000 Da or greater mass range, fully automated vacuum system. Nitrogen and/or NdYag lasers, MS operating system and data interpretation software, proteomics package/accessories, Ion-gate for metastable precursor ion selection, collision cell, post acceleration detector for linear mode applications, optical bench for installation of the second laser (with electronics) and user training. FOB Destination within 120 days after award of a purchase order. Interested offerors shall submit descriptive literature along with their cost quotation. Descriptive literature shall be in sufficient detail as to demonstrate that the system offered meets or exceeds the specifications. Award will be made to the vendor who submits the lowest price system that meets all technical specifications. The Government may make its decision on the basis of initial quotations received and not have discussions. Therefore, each initial quotation should contain the offerors best terms from both a price and technical standpoint. This is Request for Proposal number 222-01-2011(P).
