Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China lake, CA, 93555-6100 intends to procure on a full and open competition basis four (4) micro-earthquake monitoring equipment holes using FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation. The holes will be drilled to a depth of three hundred (300) feet. Three (3) of the drill sites are located within the borders of the Coso geothermal field which is approximately 15 miles east of the Coso Junction store, located on the lands controlled by the Commanding Officer, Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS), China Lake, CA. The other site is located off-station in the Tunawee Canyon, west of Coso Junction, CA. These holes will be used by the Navy's Geothermal Program Office in its monitoring of earthquake activity in the Coso area. This project is estimated to take 60 days to complete. A complete Statement of Work (SOW) will be provided and released, with the Request For Proposal (RFP). The RFP will be released on or about 17 September 2001 and close thirty (30) days thereafter.
